Shopping malls after Corona: This is what the future of the shopping street looks like

Closed shops, empty shopping centers - the corona crisis has accelerated the death of inner cities. Investors therefore want to make shopping an event. Is that enough to lure customers back?


For the children a Barbie adventure world, for the parents the “Mercato Metropolitano”, and all of this in the look of a light-flooded shopping arcade.

At Potsdamer Platz in Berlin, a shopping center from the nineties is to be transformed into the shopping model of the future.

But there are already enough shopping malls and shopping malls in Berlin and other cities in Germany, if not too many: Inner cities are struggling with more and more vacancies, and an increasing need for shopping is not to be expected after Corona either.
