The Arab Center for Studies of Dry Areas and Dry Lands “ACSAD” and the Syndicate of Veterinarians signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at contributing to the development of the veterinary health status of livestock in the Arab countries in general and Syria in particular, at the headquarters of “ACSAD” in Damascus.
The memorandum provided for cooperation between the two sides to develop the animal wealth and health sector and the extension sector, raise the technical capacity of veterinary technical cadres, participate in the preparation of studies and implement applied research that will benefit the veterinary health status of livestock and provide the necessary technical expertise for veterinary cadres by ACSAD experts and participate in organizing Attending seminars and conferences in veterinary technical fields of interest to both parties and carrying out research in the field of climate change and its impact on animal health and ways to reduce its impact.
In a statement to reporters, ACSAD's Director General, Dr. Nasr El-Din Al-Obeid, pointed to the importance of the memorandum, which comes within the framework of strengthening cooperation with federations, unions and specific associations to achieve optimal use of natural and human resources and contribute to the development of agricultural reality, both plant and animal, expressing ACSAD's readiness to provide its scientific expertise. And research, with the benefit of contributing to the success of the march of the Syndicate of Veterinarians in the country of its headquarters, Syria, and its expansion towards Arab countries.
For his part, the head of the Syndicate of Veterinarians, Dr. Iyad Al-Suwaidan, considered that signing the memorandum will be in the interest of both parties and will contribute to developing cooperation at the Arab level.
