The economist Juan Carlos de Pablo reiterated
that he sees almost "impossible" that a devaluation of the peso can be avoided
, although he continues without risking its magnitude;
He again criticized the Minister of Economy Martín Guzmán and the lack of an economic program.
In a meeting organized by the Planexware company, the economist assured that it is
"impossible that there is not an exchange rate jump"
, and that this devaluation can be
"gradual or suddenly".
De Pablo said that
"if the rate of devaluation accelerates, people
stop and, if you make an exchange rate jump, you repeat what Juan Carlos Fabrega (former president of the Central Bank) tried to do, and it didn't work."
In this sense, he added that economic measures must be taken
"within a program and a political context"
, and also returned to a point already mentioned previously that the Argentine economy is
"closer to a Rodrigazo than to anything else."
He sees two major problems with Pablo: one is that Alberto Fernández repeats the formula of his predecessor Mauricio Macri and that
"he does not have a strong Minister of Economy."
And the second is that "in a presidential country,
nobody believes the President and the ministers do not know who to look for political clues."
"When are the members of the economic team going to do something? They don't know. They will try to do nothing," De Pablo said, reinforcing the statement made by Economy Minister Guzmán every time he has a chance.
What can happen to the dollar
For De Pablo, "unlike the first semester in which the fiscal deficit was reduced, in the second more will be issued with a meager demand for pesos."
And he added:
“The blue dollar is free and, if the price changes, it is because that composition is uncomfortable
.
If people are scared, they ask for more and, if they calm down, less ”.
Regarding exchange restrictions, De Pablo indicated that
“the stocks are a by-product of Cristina Kirchner's victory
.
In front of us, people like my aunt Carlota said 'not
with my dollars!' "
, He recalled, and clarified that
what affects prices are surprises.
“If the ruling party is doing badly on Sunday, I don't know why it would have to increase the dollar, because the scare is that we are going for everything.
In 2019, the Monday after the STEP was like this ”, he concluded on the subject.
At the opening of the meeting, Guido Pinto, Planexware commercial manager, addressed the critical aspects for Argentine companies in this context.
In line with this, he emphasized the effects of the coronavirus pandemic, which affected commercial operations on a global scale;
highlighted the importance of having automated and integrated processes to achieve effective business management and highlighted the advantage of using digital tools.
