This noise comes from the two ovens which heat blooms - steel bars with a square section - to 1200 degrees in order to be able to laminate them, in order to make railroad tracks with a maximum length of 108 meters.
The first came out of Hayange's rolling mills in 1897. The site still manufactures them today, after having survived a number of changes of hand since its creation.
This Monday, Agnès Pannier-Runacher, Minister for Industry, went to Hayange to meet the managers of Saarstahl, and to congratulate herself that, this time, almost all the visionaries are green for a sustainable recovery of the site.
