The defense budget for 2022 "
will amount to nearly 41 billion euros
" against 39.2 billion euros in 2021, she said in her speech to return to the staff of the ministry.
“
Since 2017, 26 billion euros more will have been invested in our defense and our armies.
It is considerable.
It is even historic.
And it was necessary,
”she underlined.
"
Building the armies of the future
"
With a global envelope of 295 billion euros over seven years, the 2019-2025 LPM provides for a clear increase in the defense budget after years of deflation.
The most significant increases (+3 billion per year) are expected from 2023, i.e. after the next French presidential election.
“
Of course, we have not yet reached halfway, but one thing is certain: everything that is done will no longer have to be done (...) we will have to continue to fight until the end of this law of military program which should take us until 2025
”, commented Florence Parly.
