Lufthansa's chief financial officer, Remco Steenbergen, made it clear in August. The German air carrier which has four companies (Lufthansa, Austrian, Swiss and Brussels Airlines) was looking for solutions to restore color to its balance sheet. Sunday, the group decided: it will proceed, from Wednesday, to a capital increase of 2.14 billion euros. All the major shareholders and a group of fourteen banks have already indicated that they would participate in this operation.

," said Yann Derocles, financial analyst at Oddo.
