Gong, the Baul troublemaker who challenges the giants of skiing

DECRYPTION - This SME of 85 employees bet early on the digitization of the production of boards and direct sales.

The Baule

"The manufacture of the boards by hand, artisanal, it is for the sores."

Long beard and build of a surfer as much as a rugby player, Patrice Guénolé speaks as he traces curves in the water: directly and passionately.

From the age of 13, at the end of the 1980s, this Baulois began to shape (model) windsurf boards.

As he turns 45, his company Gong, founded in 2008 with 10,000 euros after having been a simple distributed brand, has a turnover of 30 million euros, which doubles each year.

What familiarize with Rip Curl Europe, one of the historic heavyweights of sliding (39 million sales in 2020).
