The hourly car rental service "Ototel" launched today (Sunday) a new pilot that will last two weeks, and will allow subscribed customers to use cars that are not on the usual routes calculated on the basis of a minute of use.
The new route comes in the wake of customer inquiries that have flooded the need to use the vehicle for longer periods of time, or alternatively for travel outside the service area.
For example, while within the city there is a replacement for an ototel using electric and two-wheeled shared vehicles, or alternatively with taxis, for longer distances, within (for example) an hour's drive, there is no solution other than public transportation, which is sometimes not a suitable alternative.

According to the company's publications, the new route will allow the service's vehicles to be used for periods of up to 3 hours at a pre-determined cost of NIS 79, plus NIS per kilometer.
That is the cost of 44 cents per minute of use (extra weight per km as stated), compared with the rate of 1.7 or 1.2 shekels per minute depending on the subscription tracks currently offered to NIS 3 per minute of use outside the area of operation of the service.
As stated, the new service is set at this time as a pilot only It will then be decided whether to make it part of the range of uses offered by the service. The extended route will run from tomorrow, September 27th to October 11th.
