Guarding and security, waitresses, flight attendants and more - these are just some of the areas previously known as "student" professions, ones that usually provide a relatively meager salary - and do not really open up a professional career, but at least can be placed as shift work, easy integration with the curriculum and exams Pay the tuition and rent.

In the background of the talk about the fact that some of the industries that were most affected during the Corona period actually belong to such professions, and create an employment problem for the student public, it turns out that there are quite a few jobs that are waiting for them.

True, not all of them are easy, in some cases the salary is low, and in any case - most are concentrated in the center, which makes it difficult for students in the periphery.

Still, here are some data on the market, on the occasion of the opening of the academic school year, which collected at our request the JobMaster job board.

Libby Petel, Director of Employers at JobMaster

explains: "There are two salient parameters that are taken into account when

applying for

a student job. The first is flexibility in working hours and the ability to integrate work with the curriculum, and the second parameter is how much the job is related to the field of study The student's professional.

Today, most academic study frameworks recognize the student's need to study, so they build a system of hours that can be combined with part-time work.

Petel adds: "Employers also have more openness to employ students, for several reasons.

They are cheaper workers, they are suitable for organizations with a work model in shifts and they are also an effective solution to the existing shortage of workers in the market in many industries. "

Even high-tech is looking for students

For example, at the giant company that develops the popular Chloe app. The unique application that allows players around the world to control real Claw Machines, via a live video broadcast from a game machine studio located in Petah Tikva. The company has vacancies for students working shifts in the operation of gaming machines.

Ofer Ashkenazi, VP of Operations at Gigantic,

explains the opportunities for students:

"We are looking for diligent students to help us operate hundreds of machines in which millions of people from all over the world play, in shifts throughout the day and night. This is a very unique opportunity to work in one of the most exciting gaming companies in the world, with a growing startup atmosphere, in a position from which you can continue to grow upon graduation. "

The old and leading high-tech companies also support the student employment model. Einat Lem-Livnat, VP of Human Resources at the cyber company Imperva, spoke about the opportunities for students in the high-tech world:

“I strongly believe in the student employment model that allows me to combine studies with work and gain professional experience. On the part of the company, the students with whom we had experience were energetic and hardworking, with up-to-date knowledge in their field, a sporting spirit and a desire to advance. The vast majority of the students who were employed by us at Imperva continued their careers in the company even after graduation.

On the part of the students themselves, the opportunity to work in a leading high-tech company differentiates them in the job market at the end of the degree, whether they continue in Impreva or apply for a job elsewhere. At the end of the employment period in a student position, this is an employee who knows the organization and will give it value almost immediately.

Through student jobs we get to train the next generation of employees in this way.

There is an excellent fit for various entry level jobs, with the student jobs at our company being mainly in the areas of development and costume support.

It is a growth engine for the company and for the employee - Win Win ".
