Last July, businessmen Rami Levy and Avi Katz launched the Q chain, a chain of autonomous stores without sellers, open 24/7.

Now the chain also offers an innovative method for purchasing alcoholic beverages by law: the transparent alcohol refrigerators deployed throughout the store, equipped with cameras that identify the buyer's face and confirm the purchase of alcohol upon presentation of an ID to confirm the purchase.

Only after presenting the ID to the camera, and identifying the customer as an adult over the age of 18 - the age allowed for the purchase of alcohol, the refrigerator opens the lock, and allows the taking of alcoholic beverages, without going to the checkout or meeting with a seller.

Comparison between the security camera and the photo on the ID card

In refrigerators for the sale of alcoholic beverages located in the store of the Q chain, a camera is installed in the front.

The customer presents her with the ID card and then enters the date of birth.

The camera sends the information to a human admin, who compares the customer's picture from his entry into the store to the one on the ID card, confirms his age and allows the opening of the refrigerators equipped with alcoholic beverages.

Buying on a machine vision basis

The chain of autonomous stores in Israel - Q, is based on the technological development of the Israeli high-tech company "Save Org" by the developer Erez Gur.

The development of Save Weave is based on buying in weight-based technology and machine vision and a breakthrough.
