Forgotten about government measures to cope with rising energy prices, the most consuming companies will be supported.

After announcing an inflation compensation of 100 euros for individuals, in the face of soaring energy prices, the government is releasing aid for certain companies.

Agnès Pannier-Runacher, the Deputy Minister for Industry, announced on Tuesday compensation of 150 million euros, intended for the 450 most energy-intensive companies.

"We are going to table an amendment during the day to allow companies that consume the most electricity to benefit from additional compensation that will allow them to remain competitive at European level," said the minister on the CNews platform.

"This aid is good for the climate, because our electricity is almost carbon-free in France, it's good for these companies and for jobs," added the Minister.

Among the companies that will be able to benefit from it, Agnès Pannier-Runacher cited the aluminum industry, for example, specifying that they are "those which consume the most electricity to date".

"It is not quite a help, it is a consideration of the reality of the market", she added.
