ElectriCity, the electrical hub built by Renault and its industrial partners, is taking shape in Douai, on the site of the manufacturer.
This Thursday, all the players in this giant electric battery factory project are gathered for a key step: the "preliminary consultation" organized with the citizens when a large-scale industrial project is being considered.

At the end of 2025, if the planned schedule is respected, Envision AESC (Automotive Energy Supply Corporation), a former Nissan subsidiary acquired in 2018 by the Chinese Envision, should produce 9 GWh of electric batteries per year.
Then go up to 30 GWh per year at the end of the decade.

In Douai, Envision plans to build successively three 9 GWh buildings and a fourth, the size of which will depend on orders from Renault or other manufacturers.
Each is expected to employ 1,000 to 1,200 people, which should ultimately create nearly 4,000 jobs.
