Jobs are getting better and better after a year and a half of the crisis.
In the second quarter of 2021, no less than 5,119,800 employment contracts were signed in the private sector (excluding agriculture, temporary work and individual employers), an increase of 5.5% compared to the first quarter which already showed a increase of 3.9%, according to a note from the statistical service of the Ministry of Labor, the Dares.

This dynamic is largely driven by the growth of the most long-term contracts: hires on permanent contracts increased more (+ 13.9%) than those on fixed-term contracts (+ 3.8%).
This general increase in recruitments on permanent contracts is widely felt in establishments with fewer than 10 employees, whose hires have jumped by 10.3%.
The increase is more measured in establishments with 10 to 49 people, with an increase of 6.3%, as well as in structures with 50 employees where, with + 2.5%, the trend is slowing down markedly.
