This is the second jail term for Emilio Lozoya, who was already jailed on November 4 for his alleged involvement in the Odebrecht scandal, the Brazilian construction giant who distributed bribes in exchange for contracts in several Latin American countries. Emilio Lozoya is accused of corruption and money laundering for having approved the acquisition in 2014 of the Agronitrogenados plant from the group Altos Hornos de Mexico (AHMSA), with an additional cost of 200 million dollars. The total amount of the transaction was $ 500 million.
Also implicated, the former president of AHMSA, Alonso Ancira, was released in April after pledging to compensate Pemex to the tune of $ 216.6 million, as part of an agreement providing for three installments. until 2023.
