Oil prices rose and crossed $83 a barrel today after recovering from a sharp decline on fears that rising inflation in the United States will prompt the government to release more strategic crude reserves to lower prices.
Reuters reported that Brent crude futures rose 70 cents, or 0.85 percent, to $ 83.34 a barrel, and West Texas Intermediate crude futures rose 79 cents, or 1%, to $ 82.13 a barrel.
