The naval battle between Corsica Ferries and the late SNCM continues to wreak havoc.
It does not matter that one of the adversaries, SNCM, sank seven years ago.
Corsica Ferries' complaint against the advantages perceived between 2007 and 2013 by its rival from the Corsica community (CDC) was dealt with despite the bankruptcy of SNCM in 2014.
Last September, the Council of State ordered the CDC to pay Corsica Ferries 86.3 million euros, in compensation for the damage linked to the
“illegal subsidization”
of its rival.
The community is the organizing authority for transport on the island.
As such, it allocates and manages public service delegations (DSP), these services to the continent subsidized by the community to ensure territorial continuity.
