Oil prices fell today to the lowest level in six weeks.
Reuters reported that Brent crude futures rose 21 cents, or 0.3 percent, to $ 80.49 a barrel, and West Texas Intermediate crude contracts fell 2 cents to $ 78.34 a barrel, after falling earlier to $ 77.08 a barrel, the lowest level since early last month.
Prices reached their highest levels in seven years last month, with the market focusing on the rapid rise in demand that coincided with the lifting of closures and the recovery of economies in the face of a slow increase in supplies from the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries “OPEC” and its allies in what is known as the “OPEC Plus” grouping.
