Relying on the skills and experiences that they acquired during their university studies and motivated by investing in the spirit of enthusiasm among young people and insisting on success and excellence, a group of students from the Faculty of Science at the University of Damascus launched their own project to produce cosmetics and perfumes that helps them enter practical life and production in a way that opens them to wider fields in the future.
Maram Al-Sayed and seven of her fellow final-year students at the Faculty of Science at Damascus University overcame their difficult living conditions and the lack of sufficient job opportunities, so they decided to start a project for the manufacture of perfumes and medical cosmetics from natural materials after several experiments they conducted according to their educational attainment, in addition to benefiting from previous reliable experiences.
Participation in the project, according to Nadia Al-Mahayni, started from the house of one of them, and the work was divided and tasks were distributed, as the work stages began by identifying the materials they need in preparing their products from natural materials, pointing out that they are safe, tested and free of any chemicals to ensure the preservation of the skin and the prevention of any future complications.
While Maya Al-Jarrah, who has taken the aspect of packaging products according to modern and attractive designs, as she put it, pointed out that the packaging bears the most prominent characteristics of the product such as composition, duration of effectiveness and other information that guarantees consumer safety.
On marketing, both Saba Kodmani and Iman Idris indicated that he needs communication skills and appropriate public relations, in addition to studying the market situation and similar products and focusing on gaining consumers’ trust by meeting the various demands and needs of this type of industry with high quality and appropriate prices, especially in light of the high prices due to lack of Availability of raw materials, assuring that participation in bazaars and exhibitions yielded positive results that encouraged them to continue the project and gain experience over time, in addition to being a new source of income for the project.
Young women are looking forward to many ideas and visions to develop their project, which has become an economic resource as well as a job opportunity for them within their scientific specialization in the future, according to the young woman, Dareen Abu Dhra’, calling on her young colleagues, students and graduates, to possess the spirit of ambition. Such projects are not impossible despite some difficulties that are dispelled by teamwork in the spirit of the team.
