Syrian and Iranian industrialists discuss enhancing trade exchange and facilitating shipping

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Damascus Chamber of Industry and its countryside, Samer Al-Debs, discussed today with the President of the Federation of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture of Iran, Gholamhossein Shafei, and the accompanying delegation, ways to enhance economic relations between private companies and increase the volume of trade exchange between the two countries.

During their discussions with the Iranian delegation, a number of members of the Chamber's Board of Directors called for the need to overcome obstacles related to shipping goods, payment and customs clearance, in addition to expediting the implementation of the agreements signed between the two countries, especially those related to the commercial aspect.

The discussions of the two sides focused on mechanisms to support tourism and the establishment of joint banks to facilitate financial transactions and expedite the submission of a set of recommendations and proposals related to this so that appropriate governmental decisions can be taken in both countries.

In a statement to reporters, Al-Dibs stressed the importance of upgrading economic relations between the two countries in terms of increasing the volume of trade exchanges and benefiting from advanced industries and great expertise that

It is owned by the Iranian side, pointing out that the Chamber submitted a request to hold an exhibition “Made in Syria” in a number of Iranian cities and to secure transit transportation through the State of Iraq to facilitate shipping operations.

For his part, Shafei indicated that the discussions that took place today contribute to the development of economic and trade relations between the two countries, especially those related to standardization of products, facilitating shipping and payment methods, and working to support Syrian industries with Iranian expertise and technology.
