The project to convert the Renault factory in Flins into a “Re-Factory”, a center dedicated to the circular economy, is progressing.
One year after announcing that the factory would be reborn in a completely different form, Jean-Dominique Senard, the chairman of the board of directors of Losange and Luca de Meo its general manager, wanted to show the first achievements.
The building that houses the “Factory VO” - a place completely renovated and refurbished to recondition used vehicles on behalf of dealers - occupies a very small space compared to the gigantic footprint of the historic factory, located at a distance of forty kilometers from Paris.
Inaugurated in 1952, it employed up to 20,000 employees.
It has seen models pass on its chains, the names of which recall another era: the Juvaquatre and the Frégate were manufactured there.
All the generations of Renault have passed through Flins.
