"I confirm that we will provide an answer to each of the sectors, to each of the entrepreneurs who are affected" by the health restrictions, declared Bruno Le Maire.

Faced with the anger of the event sector, in particular the discotheques which will have to close their doors from Friday for four weeks, the government wants to be reassuring.

"We will try to reopen as soon as possible, I am committed to it",

assured Emmanuel Macron, affirming that the discotheques would be

"compensated in an exemplary manner to hold during this period",

while he strolled in the center of Vierzon (Dear), this Tuesday.

In detail, the Minister of Labor Élisabeth Borne and the Minister of the Economy Bruno Le Maire announced the strengthening of compensation for fixed charges and the partial activity of companies in the event sector and for closed discotheques .

"I confirm that we will provide an answer to each of the sectors, to each of the entrepreneurs who are affected"

by the health restrictions announced on Monday by Matignon to curb the fifth wave of Covid-19, said Bruno Le Maire, questioned by several deputies during the questioning session to the government at the National Assembly.

The government plans in particular to strengthen the current system of support for the fixed costs of companies penalized by the crisis so that it

"covers all the costs of these companies (and not 90% as is currently the case) to from the moment when they lose a lot of turnover or from the moment when they are closed ”

, detailed the Minister. However, he did not specify the level of loss of turnover that would be used to be entitled to this aid. Asked by

Le Figaro

, the vice-president of the Union of trades in industry and hospitality - Night, David Zenouda asked, Monday, that "

the basis of calculation is done in the month of December 2019",

the most important of the year for the discotheques which realize their biggest turnover in particular thanks to December 31, according to him.

The objective is that the nightclubs

"do not lose a euro with this closure"

, with an aid which covers

"including the remuneration of the managers"

of these establishments, insisted Bruno Le Maire.

Partial activity supported at 100%

Regarding the partial activity, Élisabeth Borne had already assured Tuesday morning on LCI that the government was going to

"put back in place the partial activity, supported at 100% therefore without rest for the employer, to continue to protect jobs ”

. Referring first to a threshold of 80% decrease in turnover necessary for this support, Élisabeth Borne finally explained that it would be clarified with the professionals.

“We will look with the sectors to see what the right number is (...). We want to support these sectors so that they are not in difficulty, ”

said Élisabeth Borne.

"We are ready to look at the trigger criteria so that they are more favorable to companies and we are ready to study the extension of the device beyond December 31,"

said Bruno Le Maire, who spoke after a meeting in Bercy between the Minister responsible for SMEs, Alain Griset, and professionals from the event and nightclub sectors.

"Case by case" for the reimbursement of PGEs

In recent days, events, and in particular caterers, have faced an avalanche of cancellations, a number of companies having given up on seminars or festive end-of-year events because of the new wave of contamination.

The General Delegate of the French Union of Trades of the Event Frédéric Pitrou also calls for the postponement of the repayment of loans guaranteed by the State (PGE).

"Companies in the sector have not had the capacity to reform reserves,"

he lamented to AFP on Tuesday.

If he ruled out a new general postponement of reimbursement of PGEs, Bruno Le Maire assured that

"no company in difficulty"

will be left

"alone in front of its bank branch"

.

"She will be entitled to departmental mediation"

to find

"on a case-by-case basis"

the

"most effective possible" solution

, he added.
