The NGO Greenpeace seized the administrative court of Paris to "
obtain the communication of the past partnerships between the Louvre Museum and the TotalEnergies Foundation
", denouncing this sponsorship with the oil group, according to a
press
release Tuesday.
Greenpeace is also asking for the list of members of the Cercle Louvre Entreprise and the amount of their contribution, according to the press release.

This request comes nearly five months after Greenpeace sent the request for communication of these documents to the Louvre Museum
", explains the NGO, which says it has not received a response. "
After having seized the Commission of access to administrative documents (CADA), the association therefore filed a request for excess of power against the decision of implicit refusal of the Louvre
", according to the press release.
Greenpeace has requested similar information from the Quai Branly museum and indicates that the latter has responded positively. Faced with the climate crisis, "
the responsibility of institutions that accept money from large oil and gas companies arises
", argues Greenpeace, which sees in the sponsorship of TotalEnergies at the Louvre a means "
of practicing economic and cultural diplomacy
" and "
to expand its influence on society
".
The NGO launched on October 4 a European citizens' initiative to ban "
advertisements, partnerships and sponsorship for all companies selling fossil goods and services
", which could lead if it collects a million signatures across the European Union.
