Ranking: The top ten business schools in Europe

Who will best train the leaders of tomorrow? A new ranking shows: French universities are ahead - a German one is also among the top ten.

Every year the »Financial Times« puts the business schools in Europe to the test.

95 management schools can be found in the newspaper's 18th ranking, which is considered an important award.

There are three French institutions alone in the top ten, and another seven in the ranks up to 46. The top group also includes business schools in Great Britain, Spain, Italy, Switzerland and Germany.

Here are the top ten in this year's ranking.

Rank 1:

HEC Paris was founded in 1881 and, according to its own information, has 108 research professors as well as 4500 students and 8000 managers and executives in training every year.

Rank 2:

The London Business School belongs to the British University of London, but is self-governing as a graduate school.

According to the university, its students come from more than 130 countries, and the admission procedure is particularly strict.

The private business school Insead, founded in 1957, now has three locations: In Fontainebleau, France, in Singapore and in Abu Dhabi.

According to the university, the proportion of international students is more than 90 percent.

The IESE Business School in Barcelona (Spain) has almost 1500 students and 113 professors.

Founded in 1958, it is sponsored by the ecclesiastical University of Navarra, whose Grand Chancellor is the respective head of the clerical association Opus Dei.

IESE has branches in Madrid, New York, Sao Paulo and for six years also in Munich.

This is where the SDA Bocconi School of Management, founded in 1971 and certified by several prestigious quality programs, is located.

ESMT in Berlin is the best-placed German business school in the ranking.

It was founded in 2002 as a private, state-recognized university by 25 global companies.

"Our ongoing top 10 placement in Europe proves that we have successfully implemented the goals we set ourselves when we were founded," said Jörg Rocholl, President of ESMT.

"As the world in which we operate is changing, we will continue to expand our offering to meet the challenge of continuous transformation." ESMT has been offering its first full online program, the Global Online MBA, since September 2021 .

The Essec Business School near Paris (France) was founded by Jesuits at the beginning of the 20th century.

The languages ​​of instruction are both English and French, and a third of the teachers come from abroad.

The ranking of European business schools is based on four individual rankings for the full-time MBA, Executive MBA, Masters in Management and executive education programs.

It is created according to a complex system that takes into account both the quality and the range of offers of the respective universities and, among other things, includes the increases in salaries of the graduates.
