Minister Salem: The importance of strengthening Syrian-Iranian economic relations

The Minister of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection, Dr. Amr Salem, discussed with an economic delegation from the Syrian-Iranian Friendship Association ways to develop relations of economic cooperation and trade exchange between Syria and Iran.

During a joint meeting at the Ministry of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection building, the two sides discussed the needs of the two countries' markets for food and consumer goods and how to provide them in light of unilateral coercive economic measures against the peoples of the two friendly countries.

The two sides agreed to hold successive meetings between the institutions of the ministry and the delegation to discuss ways of joint cooperation and activate what is agreed upon directly.

During the meeting, Minister Salem stressed the importance of strengthening Syrian-Iranian economic and trade relations to alleviate the unilateral coercive measures imposed on the two friendly peoples in both countries, pointing to the depth, stability and consolidation of relations between the two countries and their pivotal role in the resistance.

The meeting was attended by the Assistant Minister of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection for Internal Trade Affairs Rasha Kirkuki, the Syrian General Manager for Trade Ziad Hazaa, the Syrian General Manager for Grain Abdul Latif Al-Amin and the Ministry's Planning Director.
