The quantity of pistachios exported during the year 2021 amounted to about 4 thousand tons, including 2,853 tons of pistachio cores, 591 tons of pistachios with the shell, and the rest of pistachios green, according to the director of the pistachio office in the Ministry of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform, Engineer Jihad Al-Mohammed.
Al-Mohammed pointed out that the quantity of pistachios produced during 2021 amounted to about 44,000 tons, noting that the office began preparing an environmental map for the pistachio tree and determining the appropriate areas for its cultivation.
Al-Mohammed explained that the area planted with pistachio trees amounted to 59,458 hectares, planted with about 9.6 million trees, including 7.7 million productive trees.
