This is an unprecedented sequence for more than two years, specifies the French Insurance Federation (FFA).

The French life insurance market recorded positive net inflows of 2.3 billion euros in November, according to provisional figures released Thursday by the French Insurance Federation (FFA).

The net collection thus exceeds the threshold of 2 billion euros for the second month in a row, "

unprecedented sequence for more than two years

", specifies the FFA.

With an amount of 12.4 billion euros, the contributions in life insurance, or deposits, reached "

a level never observed

in the past" for a month of November, assured Franck Le Vallois, general manager of the FFA, during a presentation to the press.

The previous record of 12 billion was recorded in November 2006.

At the same time, the amount of benefits, or withdrawals, for the month of November remains "

globally stable

", at 10.1 billion euros, "

whether in comparison with the month of November 2020 or 2019

".

Contributions in units of account (UC), which offer a potentially higher return than funds in euros in exchange for risk taking, "

remained at a high level in November, at 4.9 billion euros

", according to the FFA.

"

Here too, the figures are unpublished for a month of November

", comments Franck Le Vallois.

At the start of the Covid-19 epidemic, and until fairly recently, life insurance suffered particularly in favor of the Livret A, the French preferring to have savings readily available.

Over the first 11 months of the year, net inflows amounted to around 12 billion.

"

It is obviously a very strong commercial dynamic

", greets the Director General of the FFA, far from the difficulties of 2020, a year which ended in an outflow of 6.5 billion euros.

Life insurance is thus regaining popularity, with 18 million policy holders and 38 million beneficiaries.

Franck Le Vallois also underlines a "

record number of retirement savings plan subscriptions

" (PER) with 130,000 new subscriptions, an increase of 69% compared to November 2020. There had never been so many new subscriptions over one month since the launch of these plans, introduced by the Pacte law in 2019.

The PER thus had 2.5 million policyholders at the end of November for an outstanding amount of 27.1 billion euros.
