»Organization: inadequate!«
Reporter:
»Why inadequate?«
Tourist 1:
»Organization!«
This man is one of 2,844 passengers whose New Year's Eve cruise ended unplanned in Lisbon.
The "Aida Nova" was actually supposed to go to Madeira at the turn of the year, but routine tests carried out 52 of the more than 1,300 crew members tested positive for Corona.
The ship had to stay in the port of the Portuguese capital for days.
Tourist 2:
»It was our risk.
That's risk.
You have to expect that you will travel during these times.
That's why we're actually relaxed. "
At first the Aida shipping company had put off the guests.
On Sunday, however, it was clear: it couldn't go on at all.
Tourist 3:
»The captain kept us informed.
In the beginning it was about the lack of people from the crew.
So that he waits for other people without whom he cannot start.
Only then two days ago did he say that there was Corona on board. "
Some media reported riots on board when the news made the rounds.
However, these passengers did not notice any of this.
Tourist 4:
"No, as it was described up to now, it wasn't that bad."
Tourist 2:
»It was all peaceful.
There was certainly one or the other who may have misjudged the tone.
But we didn't hear that, we didn't notice. "
According to the shipping company, all passengers over the age of twelve are vaccinated.
Before they went on board, everyone should have had both an antigen and a PCR test carried out.
Nevertheless, twelve other people tested positive on Sunday, including four passengers, said the Lisbon port director to a local radio station.
Tourist 4:
»We just imagined something else.
We have been on the road since Hamburg and actually wanted to stay until Saturday, we were mainly looking forward to the Canaries, especially Madeira.
Yes, it is not.
Good, out, over.
We'll be back in March. "
But first the man is flown back to Germany.
Whether he can really go on a cruise again in March should depend on the corona waves.
