The Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) publishes the average gross wage per employee post of Israeli workers in October 2021. According to the CBS, the average wage per employee post amounted to NIS 11,277, a decrease of 2.6% compared to October 2020, when the wage level was NIS 11,580.
In September, the average wage was NIS 11,668, while in August it was NIS 11,771.
That is, we predict a small but consistent and sustained decline in the average wage, a finding that can be explained by unemployment data, which indicates an increasing return of the unemployed to the labor force, most of them in lower-wage jobs.
This conclusion is also supported by the data published by the CBS, according to which the number of employee jobs in October was 3.759 million, an increase of 21.1% compared to October 2020, when the number of jobs was 3.105 million.
