On December 31, the Alsatian company created in 1928 announced that it was in suspension of payments.

This is the third time since 2012 that the manufacturer of Caddy trolleys has been unable to pay its debts, which now amount to 4 million euros.

On December 31, the company announced to its workers at the Dettwiller plant (Bas-Rhin), 70% taken over in 2018 by the Polish Damix, that the Alsatian company created in 1928 was in suspension of payments.

This Tuesday, the manufacturer was placed in receivership.

He has a month and a half to find a buyer and save his 140 jobs in Alsace.

"The court puts the company in receivership (...) and it returns the case to February 22, hoping to have a solution by this date with a buyer for the company Caddie", indicated the president of the company Stéphane Dedieu, to the outcome of the closed hearing held before the commercial chamber of the judicial court of Saverne (Bas-Rhin).

In the spring of 2020, Caddie had already made a rescue attempt by abandoning its Drusenheim site, for an investment of more than 3 million euros, to concentrate on that of Dettwiller, thus proceeding to 42 layoffs.

But since then, and despite two loans guaranteed by the State, the debts have piled up.
