During the meeting of the Minister of Industry with the Household Electrical Appliances Committee in the Damascus Chamber of Industry and its countryside, the representatives of the factories demanded that the household appliances industry be included in the permanent export support program, similar to the textile industries and some foodstuffs covered by the program. export operations.
The deputy head of the Damascus Chamber of Industry and its countryside, Louay Nahlawi, drew attention to the high prices of industrial glass manufactured locally and its low quality, especially those used in the manufacture of ovens, in addition to waiting for a long period of time to transfer the price of their imports through exchange companies, in addition to the decision to pay cash to pay the value Customs checks instead of bank transfers.
For his part, the Minister of Industry affirmed the government’s support for the private industrial sector, providing all the necessary facilities, granting loans to industrialists, and raising their ceiling to match the requirements of the industrial process, explaining the need to introduce a culture of billing and provide documented information about freight charges through the port of Latakia and compare them with sea ports in neighboring countries.
He pointed to the necessity of holding a meeting with glass manufacturers and owners of industrial facilities that use this substance to reach solutions that satisfy all parties.
