"I'm blonde on heels, but not weak, and there are those who have a hard time with it."

The sudden death of her father turned her from a young student into a tough businesswoman and the pressure of her partners to go public made "Thorpez" a company worth NIS 2.5 billion.

Who I am

: Curious, performant, with very high values, money can not buy me. Perfectionist, opinionated, centralist, sensitive and very fond of people. I keep in touch with everyone and believe that everything starts and ends in relationships and therefore, when companies are sold to me they are selling to the foundation and not to the throbbing.

Roots

: Grandpa was born in Toledo and at a young age moved from Spain to Rotterdam in the Netherlands. Grandma was born in Lithuania and grew up there until her teens. The two decided to immigrate to Israel separately, met on a ship from Rotterdam to Tel Aviv and fell in love. Because they were not allowed to enter the land, they were forced to sail towards Egypt and settled in Cairo, where a father, who was an only child, was born, raised and educated.

Grandpa, who ran the Belgian bank in Egypt, believed in higher education and sent him to study electrical engineering with a specialization in high voltage at MIT in the US when he was 16. During the four years he was there he met a Jew from England, they got married, continued their studies in England and ... His parents came to Israel in the late 1950s and he immigrated to Israel in 1961. A

maternal grandfather was born in Odessa and a grandmother on the Russian-Polish border. He was sent to study art at Leonardo da Vinci, where he married his first wife who died. At birth with the boy and decided to immigrate to Israel, he also refused entry and found himself in Cairo, where he met his grandmother.

The families met from a distance in the community in Cairo, from meetings at the country club and the synagogue.

When Dad's family came to Israel, Mom's family invited them to their home, in a gesture of "Explain to the Immigrant."

Dad's parents forgot something there and when he was sent to pick him up, he pushed Mom there, who was dizzyingly beautiful - and the rest is history.

Musa Cohen

: Dad, an exceptionally talented man, manly and smart. He went down to work at

the

KMG in Dimona for a few years and then built the airports in Izmir, on behalf of the Ministry of Defense and was on the line to Turkey.

The grandfather of Daniel and Michael Zalkind, the controlling shareholders of Elco today. L.R.) Elco was on the verge of bankruptcy at the time. Elco Installations and Services, had tremendous success and then passed away unexpectedly.

My childhood

: I have lived in Ramat Hasharon all my life. At home they spoke French and English and studied at Alon High School, mainly biology, chemistry and French. I played the piano, ran short runs, played tennis and wanted to study medicine. In the army, when I served in the IDF Spokesman I met my lovely husband.

Shai Hazon

: With. He was a reserve engineer in building engineering at the Technion, did a master's degree in financial management and today is VP of operations at Turpaz. Shai is brilliant, humble, quiet and knowledgeable at levels. You love Thorpez, when we were just partners in the company, so in practice he is there before me. Besides, he is an amazing and funny man, a great father, a supportive and supportive partner and the one who gave me the freedom and success.

Studies

: I was accepted to study medicine in Jerusalem, but because we only had one car, it was not feasible. When I went to visit the Hebrew University, I met the head of the Department of Pharmacology and he told me that they were opening a branch in Bar Ilan, so I enrolled there in medicinal chemistry. I did my master's degree in economics and business administration at the London Business School and I flew back and forth, and then I attended a Harvard program, but the real university was what I went through at 23 years old.

Elco

: One fine day, when he was 58, Dad fell and died of a heart attack.

I have a picture of him, seven and a half hours before, holding my baby.

It's been 29 years and it feels like it was a moment ago.

Mom was 49, with no business understanding, big brother, genius, doctor of electrical engineering - he and money is oil and water, and the little one was 16. I was a student and found myself collecting his stuff, claiming life insurance, standing before the tax authorities, cumming Account with Elco.

I negotiated with them for nine months. I demanded that his bonuses be closed years ago, and I sold the shares, because that's what was written in the contract if any of the partners died. They behaved fairly, properly and harshly, did not try to steal or cheat. And I invested the money right so that Mom could live

well

: I started working at Makhteshim Agan and Micha Pikarsky, one of the founders, raised me. He had a hobby of raw materials for the perfume and taste industry and he said, let's take a look at what's out there. I said it was worth a lot of money and set up a company, with a logo and from there we progressed. I worked closely with Ilan Levita, one of the more equal people. I was in Makhteshim for seven years. Micha asked me to run a subsidiary, but I wanted a second child, so they brought someone else in my place. When I returned from maternity leave I realized that my replacement thought there was no room for both of us, and since I did not stay in a place where I was not valued, I decided to leave.

Aromor

: I said that if I was good enough to start a $ 300 million company for Makhteshim, I could build something for myself, I set up a company and started advising Aromor two days a week, when they were on the verge of bankruptcy. After leading a recovery process, I bought together with Levita and Adv. Reli for 50% of the company. Later we bought it all and eight years ago we sold it for over $ 100 million.

Thorpez 1

: At the same time I bought Thorpez for 2 and a half million dollars. The intention was to buy them for Aromor, but at Kibbutz Givat Oz, the partners objected. I committed to IFF, the company that bought Aromor that I would stay for three years, but after two years I moved to manage Thorpez and in 2016 I implemented a new acquisition and merger strategy, the first of which was in the US. A year later I met Uri Yehudai, from Frutarom, Together a company in Poland he said, let's invest money in

Turpaz

. In 2017 Frutarom acquired control of the company and I had a veto right

. I wanted to be with them again in the same bed, so we bought back the shares of Frutarom, we returned the money and since then we have control of the company. Uri and I are not friends as before, but if we see each other we will

say

hello,

: Operates in Poland, USA and Israel and deals in the fields of flavor, smell and chemistry extracts

, what I call the golden triangle. This is how the largest companies in the world are built and that's what I mean.

, Softeners, candles, hotels, hospitals and toiletries. Our flavor extracts, natural or synthetic, are found in cookies, yogurt, ice cream, beverages, confectionery, tobacco, medicines, industrial syrups, and we supply the chemical intermediates for medicines, to the largest companies in the world, Between them Pfizer and Lonza. I continue the organic acquisition policy. To date, we have made 12 strategic acquisitions, and we have become a group

.

: I did not want to be public, but they convinced me and apart from saying thank you to Reli for the stunning name and Ilan Levita, I did not plan it.

In retrospect, we did it in May, in the middle of the corona, which brought us to a current value of NIS 2.5 billion.

My investors have benefited along with me and need to look at this long-term investment.

Industrial women

: unfortunately do not know much. Those who want to be an industrialist should know that this is difficult management and a constant daily effort, which requires great sacrifice. The industry is very chauvinistic. Although I'm blonde on heels, but I'm not weak, and there are those who have a hard time with it.

Government back

: If we had to build ourselves on the government, there would be no industry in Israel. No one is helping us. When I bought Chemada, a factory in Sde Eliyahu in the Gaza Strip, which I took out of liquidation when there was a real danger that more than 90 families would lose their livelihoods, no one cared. ICL, which is my raw material supplier in chemistry, was the only one who cared and made an agreement with us that allowed us to maintain the factory, the people and the industry.

Leisure

: lots of sports, friends, jeep tours whenever possible, and family. I have a new grandson, the thing

The

sweetest in the world.

The prophecy was given to fools.

I want to travel long distances and want to establish a global industry with headquarters in Israel.

My dream is to build one of the largest companies in the world in the field of flavor and fragrance extracts.

If the kids want to join me, I'll be happier.
