THE QUESTION.
Comparisons between France and Germany have become a classic and a French obsession, whether in terms of growth, unemployment and more generally economic performance.
Speaking Monday at the LCI morning, Bruno Le Maire, the Minister of the Economy, Finance and Recovery, put an original dimension forward:
"When I look at an engineer, it can cost up to three times more. expensive in France than in Germany because social security contributions have been removed, ”
he said.

For our big money manager, who has the upper hand both over public finances and industry - a unique case in Europe -, the prohibitive cost of the most qualified labor force, of which the engineer is the better symbol, would have contributed to the decline of the industry in France.
While he has just spent nearly five years at Bercy, Bruno Le Maire projects himself into the future and says
"wanting to fight for French reindustrialisation by putting the reality of the problems on the table"
.
Should we therefore reduce social contributions for wages beyond 2.5 times the minimum wage as suggested by the Minister?
