Luxury car manufacturers in the world achieved a record number of sales last year to escape the effects of the health crisis caused by the spread of the Corona epidemic and the car industry's suffering from a shortage of components, especially electronic chips.

And the French Press Agency reported that luxury car manufacturers such as Rolls-Royce, Bentley and Bugatti achieved record sales in 2021, with those operating with four-wheel drive topping the list of sales away from the car market crippled by the health crisis.

Bugatti witnessed the best year ever in its history, as 150 cars were ordered at a base price of approximately three million euros during the year 2021.

Adolfo Di Stefani Cosentino, president of the Italian Association of Car Dealers, explained that this happens everywhere after crises, as the rich get richer and the poor get poorer, adding that luxury and excellence have endured during this crisis much better than the general categories.

In addition, BMW recorded record results with the sale of 2.2 million cars, especially in China and the United States, while its competitor, Mercedes-Benz, witnessed a decrease in its global sales by 5 percent due to a lack of chips, but its sales of the sports model AMG and Maybach rose dramatically.

Porsche also set records with more than 300,000 cars sold, mainly in China and the United States, where the Taycan electric car surpassed its legendary 119, with sales doubling in one year.
