After finding an intestinal bacterium in a sample, the manufacturer Gillot Sas from France is recalling the product Camembert Bertrand (Camembert de Terroir au lait cru).
It is strongly discouraged to consume it – it can lead to diarrhea, nausea and abdominal cramps, according to customer information.
Accordingly, 250-gram packs with the best-before date of January 27, 2022 are affected.
According to Lebensmittelwarning.de - a portal of the federal states and the Federal Office for Consumer Protection and Food Safety (BVL) - the states of Berlin, Bremen, Hesse, Lower Saxony, North Rhine-Westphalia, Saxony and Thuringia are affected.
"People who have eaten this food and develop severe or persistent symptoms should seek medical help and point out a possible EHEC infection," said the Federal Office.
