It was not the concern for the health of the teachers and certainly not the concern for the education system and the Israeli students that was behind the events of the night, in which the secretary general of the Teachers' Union swept an entire country.

Last night, at five to eight in the evening, Israel almost wore a holiday.

Not because of the snow that has painted parts of it white.

This was because it was precisely in the days of inclement weather that a ray of optimism shone, when the light was seen at the edge of the omicron: the end of the isolationist policy - Israeli students return to classrooms and parents to work.

The little ones were excited: they arranged the schoolbags, reminded the parents what they like about the sandwich - and the latter, for their part, were also excited, not only because of the children's joy, but because after days in training, here they go back to work.

Then the news edition of Eight in the Evening opened, which was about to bring us the white sights from the Golan Heights and Jerusalem in a dramatic announcement: the secretary of the Teachers' Union decided to suspend classes. Why?

For honor one has to work

I guess had he been quoted for living room conversations in homes across Israel (that someone would get NSO) there would have been phrases that were hard to put down in writing.

Even I have to put my hand off the keyboard for a moment, count to ten - and try to neutralize this charge wire by wire.

With your permission let's start:

Ben David did not see the outline, on his face it sounds strange, right?

After all, this outline was presented a total of a week ago, discussed in the media throughout the last few days - and it was even known that its start date would be Thursday.

That is - a surprise was not here, but only a final decision of the Prime Minister to approve it.

Moreover, over the past two years, quite a few decisions have been made about closures, facilitations, openings of certain industries in one form or another, inspections and more. Whether you are a high-tech worker or a locomotive driver, a remodeling contractor or a beautician, a hotel worker or a full-time graphic designer, I'm pretty sure no one has spoken to you before, presented you with the outline that closed and opened all of our workplaces intermittently. When needed, present it in the media.

Only Mrs. Yaffa Ben-David, Yarom Hoda, should be presented with the outline (which, as stated, was visible to all). She just did not specify what authority she wants her to present to the outline: Is the health minister enough, for example, or is the prime minister himself - and perhaps even those are not enough, and need a word from the chief of staff and the replacement prime minister. : As Yaffa's honor is on the table, "Colombian Love" suddenly looks like a Disney movie.

The lie about caring for teachers' health

Ben-David then changed the diskette, mainly because she snatched a hard on the head from the Labor Court - after she decided to shut down an entire country because of a personal whim.

Suddenly she is worried about the health of Israeli teachers:

"Put the teachers in danger of death," Resfa said in one of the studios.

I admit that for a moment I was impressed by the courage of this brave woman for her concern for Israeli teachers, but then I remembered that it was the same beautiful Ben-David who did not really encourage teachers to get vaccinated, the only medical remedy so far proven to be more life-saving than any other.

In fact, the education system beneath it flourished a culture of vaccine refusal, with the average immunization among teachers being lower than its rate among the general population.

As someone for whom teacher health is so important, she could then stand as a proof at the gate and demand from the public that she represents to set some personal example, but Ben-David then volunteered to defend the right of teachers not to get vaccinated - and that reminds you of much more deadly morbidity.

So who are you telling stories to, Mrs. Ben David? After all, the health of teachers does not really matter to you.

After hearing the representative of the Israeli teacher's representative of "The dog ate my notebook", let's talk a little about the attitude, because more than any unnecessary day off it tried to impose on an entire country (damage of hundreds of millions of shekels to the economy. It is not in the words but in the melody: As someone who believes in the legal right of workers to unite so that they are not exploited, it hurts me that Shifa Ben-David brings a bad name to organized work.

True - she's really not the only one, there are other large and powerful committees that have had puppets set up by their creators and are on hand at the shelter, but Ben David is a symbol of the forceful attitude of those who are completely confused and mistakenly think they are not just workers' representatives. Rewards run the country.

I know that this opinion is also shared by quite a few people in the workers' organizations, those who think that good organized work is built together with the various employers and hold the strike weapon only when the whole officer is gone.

It is largely clear to me that this is the way of the current leadership of the Histadrut, and of the chairman of the Histadrut who prefers to reach agreements (a.k.a. the package deal) instead of climbing barricades, but unfortunately (and unfortunately) he can not go against a workers' union with so many members. Although I'm sure he saw the sights, heard the voices, anticipated the defeat in the Labor Court (which could also reflect on struggles he is sure of in their righteousness, for example that of the port workers) and exploded in front of the screen - because every time a brutal struggle of chairman Strong comes to the door of the court and receives a blow, it is not only damage to the same organization, but to all the organized workers. In

other words, precisely those who hold socialist values were the first to understand the damage caused to them last night by the teachers' union chairman.

The most budgeted and poor system in Israel

It is difficult to seal the review of the horror show of the teachers' representative, without saying a word about the system in which she is a central figure: the system is sick, even rotten.

The level of knowledge of the students is insulting, in the PISA tests it turns out that the children of the startup nation grow up to be ignorant and peoples of countries, while those who succeed in beating the method are only those whose parents have enough money to fund supplementary or private education.

We received proof of this only last night, in the very same news edition, which compared the percentage of those admitted to cyber units from established central cities such as Ramat Hasharon, Raanana, Kfar Saba and more, compared to peripheral localities.

Make no mistake: this is not the ethnic origin and not even the geography, but just the fact that the system in the periphery is all beautiful Ben David, while in the more established center the parents manage to repair its damage with their money.

And it's not that we did not know education ministers who wanted to bring about change (this is the government ministry with the biggest budget!), But that every reform that has engraved on its banner the "good for teaching", which is essentially raising the threshold requirements from teachers, shortening vacations - Winning it today, encountered a wall in the form of the various teachers' organizations, the guardians of the mediocre (the most delicate word I could think of in the circumstances) professional of the education system.

So Yaffa Ben-David does not care about the health of the teachers, does not care about the organized work and does not care about the level of education of our children.

Why does she care?

Probably just in her honor.

There are other teachers as well

It is impossible to end the criticism of those who last night went on strike for the joy of an entire country, without mentioning that there are other teachers as well: people who come from love, give of themselves without limits to Israeli students - and believe it or not - most receive compensation from the community that embraces them back.

At the school where my daughter attends, for example, the returning teachers were accepted today as heroes, with brunch and treats from the parents' leadership (yes, yes, again those parents who are forced to buy with money the education that Shifa Ben-David prevents from the children).

Not to be outdone, they - who came to school today by virtue of orders - say much harsher words about the secretary general and her businessmen, who hold them hostage than those written here. For to a great extent the trouble of us all is their tragedy.

It remains only to hope that the omicron does indeed fade, and that we will eventually be able to repair the corona damage.

On the other hand, the damage that Ben-David causes - both to the education system and to the rights of workers in Israel, may be a cry for generations.

Damages that no outline, other than closing and reopening the education system, will be able to prevent.
