Compensation to business owners for a drop in revenue in January, was an issue that preoccupied quite a few media, self-employed organizations and many politicians.

It was estimated that many businesses were affected by the fifth wave of the Corona, which was characterized by high percentages of omicron adhesion and a decline in business activity as a result of the extensive isolation policy.

However, a survey

of business trends published by the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) reveals quite interesting data that may challenge this determination.

Last month (December 2021) except for the hotel industry, where there was a decline in the appreciation of hotel managers.

Most business owners report that the situation has improved

The business trend assessment survey is analyzed using the weighted difference between the percentage of company executives who assessed the company's position positively and the percentage of company executives who assessed it negatively.

The balance sheet is in the range between minus 100 (worst) and plus 100 (best).

The closer the balance sheet value is to the upper limit, the more positive the valuation among managers, and the closer the balance sheet value is to the lower limit, the more negative the assessment.

When the balance is close to zero, there is a lack of expectations for a change in the existing situation.

According to the survey, despite the increase in morbidity in Corona, the net balance sheet that reflects the situation in January is positive and higher than the net balance sheet that reflected the month of December, to (as mentioned, except in the hotel industry where there was a sharp decline).

For example, while in the manufacturing industries they stated that their economic situation stands at 30% in January, compared to 26.5% last month, in the communal trade industry they noted that their economic situation stands at 22.3% compared to 18.7% last month.

In the hotel industry, which has experienced a shake-up in the past month, a decline of tens of percent was reported, although even in December the figure was a negative number, perhaps quite predictably, relative to the industry that has been hit hard since the corona burst into our lives.
