Britain and South Korea will sign an agreement on Monday to secure supply chains damaged by the virus pandemic, according to the British Foreign Office.
"This demonstrates our Indo-Pacific focus in practice - strengthening ties with one of the world's largest economies," said Trade Minister Anne-Marie Trevelyan, who will receive her counterpart Yeo Han-koo in London.
It includes important products such as semiconductors.
Initially, the agreement does not go beyond the agreements that Britain had as a member of the European Union (EU) before Brexit.
Monday's meeting marks the start of formal trade negotiations, which are expected to begin later this year.
Britain wants to use its exit from the EU to build closer ties with the growing economies in Asia and the Pacific region.
