With the participation of more than a hundred Syrian and Arab companies, the activities of the International Specialized Export Fair for Leather Industries and Production Supplies kicked off this evening, Silla 13, Spring Summer 2022, on the fairgrounds.

The exhibition, which is organized by the Arab Federation of Leather Industries in cooperation with the Federations of the Chambers of Industry and Commerce, includes the latest models of men's, children's, women's and sports shoes, in addition to the raw materials used in this industry such as leather, molds and others.

In a statement to the media, Minister of Industry Ziad Sabbagh pointed out the importance of the leather industry in Syria, as it is mostly a local industry in light of the availability of raw materials, the presence of specialized and experienced technical manpower and the high taste of designers, noting that the ministry is constantly striving to overcome the difficulties experienced by industrialists and exporters, and it communicates with various parties. government to solve their problems.

For his part, the head of the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Industry, Faris Al-Shihabi, indicated in a statement to SANA that what distinguishes the exhibition is the competitiveness of prices for neighboring countries, pointing out that the visitors confirmed their admiration for the offered products and will sign export contracts in light of the competitiveness of the Syrian product in terms of price and quality.

In turn, the Secretary-General of the Arab Federation of Leather Industries and a member of the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce, Muhammad Kazara, indicated that the exhibition, which is being held on an area of ​​5,000 square meters, contributes to enhancing the competitiveness of Syrian producers despite the difficult conditions and the unjust economic siege.

Vice-President of the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce Amer Hamwi pointed out the importance of the exhibition through the presence of more than 300 visitors from Arab countries and more than 100 Syrian participants, indicating that the proportion of participants in the exhibition from Aleppo Governorate reaches between 60 to 70 percent, which confirms the importance of the industry in Aleppo By supporting the national economy, especially as it is historically known for the quality of its products.

In turn, the head of the Leather Committee in the Chamber of Industry in Damascus and its countryside, Muhammad al-Boushi, explained that the exhibition constitutes a marketing window for leather products and shoes, and has great importance in supporting the national economy through the export contracts that will be signed, pointing to the arrival of delegations from Iraq, Yemen, Jordan, Palestine, Lebanon and Egypt.

The head of the Arab Federation of Leather Industries, Tariq Al-Tamimi, considered that the Syrian industry is comparable to and competitive with its counterparts in the world, and that the participating companies have a reputation in the Arab and local markets, pointing out that similar exhibitions will be held in a group of countries such as Iraq, Egypt and Jordan.

Head of the regional office of the Arab Federation of Leather Industries and head of the Jordanian delegation Nasr Dhibat pointed out the importance of the exhibition and the participation of delegations from a group of countries, including 30 visitors from Jordan, pointing out that the office is ready to host Syrian industrialists to set up a similar exhibition in Jordan that includes participants from Arab countries.

It is noteworthy that the exhibition, which continues until next Sunday, opens its doors to visitors between one in the afternoon and nine in the evening, and transportation is available for visitors from in front of the Sham Hotel at four, five and six in the evening back and eight, eight thirty and nine back to Damascus.
