Over the past two years, the face of Parisian shopping streets has changed.
They are now dotted with premises that are not shops, but places of preparation.
In a report that has just been published, the Parisian Urban Planning Workshop (Apur) draws up an inventory of these new blind spaces - their windows are often clouded - which are invading the capital and other major cities.

In barely a year, 60 “dark stores” have opened their doors in Paris.
These are mini-warehouses where start-ups (Gorillas, Cajoo, Flink, Frichti or Zapp) prepare shopping baskets that they promise to deliver in ten to twenty minutes.
Eleven of them have been established in the place of former supermarkets.
These dark stores generate nuisances that Apur underlines: their large hourly amplitude is at the origin of comings and goings until midnight.
Due to the lack of dedicated waiting areas, delivery people gather together and their discussions disturb the neighborhood.
