This is a first in France for Cdiscount.
The e-merchant launched nearly a year ago Octopia, a subsidiary that offers turnkey marketplaces to other e-merchants.
For the first time in France, it will provide its service to a player that does not belong to the Casino group, of which Cdiscount is a subsidiary.

Octopia has just signed a partnership with Rakuten under which 14,000 sellers pre-selected by Cdiscount will be able to offer their products on the Japanese marketplace.
They will not have, for that, to make individually new steps.
"Sellers will be able to simply create their store on Rakuten, access the 11 million members of Club R and reward member purchases with reusable points on the platform",
explain the two e-commerce players.
The commission taken from their sales will be split between Rakuten and Octopia.
