The image of the postman on a bicycle, pedaling through the streets with his bag full of letters, has more and more sepia tones.
In 2021, half of the 34.6 billion euros in turnover of the La Poste group was ensured by the delivery of parcels, the share of mail being limited to 18%.
Faced with the attrition of its historic activity - in 2021, the number of letters fell by a further 2.4% after a drop of 17.9% in 2020 -, the public group is banking on three pillars to grow by 2030: The Postal Bank, the digital center (safe, digital identity, etc.) and local services (such as “Watch over my parents”…) and,
last but not least
, parcel delivery.
An area where La Poste is both number one in France and very present internationally via its subsidiary Geopost.
Last year, the group delivered 2.7 billion parcels to individuals and businesses (+10.7%).
