Avi Singer's lawyers, owner and CEO Of Ben & Jerry's in Israel, filed a lawsuit on his behalf in a New Jersey court against Unilever Global, claiming that they demanded from Avi Singer, the CEO and owner of Ben & Jerry's Israel,
In his lawsuit, Singer is asking the New Jersey court to intervene in the matter and determine that Unilever's claim is contrary to American and Israeli law.
Avi Singer's attorneys are asking the U.S. Federal Court to recognize the termination of Unilever's contract with Avi Singer as an illegal move.
Singer is also asking the federal court to issue a restraining order against Unilever's demand and to allow the continued operation of the Ben & Jerrys Israel plant and the distribution of its products throughout the country.
This lawsuit may not be enough and Singer will be forced to escalate the fight, but it is currently unknown whether his U.S. attorneys are likely to file a tort claim on his behalf as compensation for the damages caused to him due to the termination of the contract.
