In the fall, investor Klaus-Michael Kühne announced that he would sell some of his shares in the Hamburger Sportverein football club.
Despite the corona lull and the Ukraine war, Lufthansa seems to be a better investment: The entrepreneur and Hamburg billionaire is now the second largest shareholder in the Lufthansa airline.
The investment company KA Logistik, which he controls, held five percent of the shares on March 7th, according to a recent voting rights notification.
The 84-year-old is the second largest shareholder in the airline.
According to Lufthansa, only the Federal Republic of Germany has a higher share of 14.09 percent via the Economic Stabilization Fund.
Nothing is known about the background to Kühne's placement in the shareholders' ranking.
The only thing that is clear is that shares with voting rights had been acquired or sold.
According to
manager magazin
, Kühne was the third richest German in 2021 with 33 billion euros.
The major shareholder of the logistics group Kühne+Nagel and the freight shipping company Hapag-Lloyd was able to more than double its assets year-on-year due to the market valuation of its shares.
