A strike by security forces at several German airports in protest against low wages has caused the cancellation of dozens of flights across the country.
Reuters quoted the aviation authorities as saying that "airlines in the city of Dusseldorf canceled 140 of the 260 planned flights to and from the western German city today, while 73 of the 123 flights in Cologne / Bonn were canceled."
The German Workers' Union called Verdi to carry out the strike today at the airports of Frankfurt, Berlin, Bremen, Hamburg, Hanover, Stuttgart, Dusseldorf and Cologne-Bonn.
The airlines canceled hundreds of flights to and from German airports due to similar strikes on Monday and Tuesday last week.
