Deutsche Bank has promoted Chief Financial Officer James von Moltke to Deputy CEO.
The Dax group announced that von Moltke would take over the new position with immediate effect in addition to his role as chief financial officer.
Von Moltke has been CFO since July 2017.
He came from the US bank Citigroup.
James von Moltke has "done outstanding work" as CFO over the past five years and has "an important part in the successful transformation of Deutsche Bank," said Paul Achleitner, Chairman of the Supervisory Board.
Von Moltke will join Karl von Rohr, who has held this office since 2018, as Deputy Chairman of the Board.
Group CEO Christian Sewing emphasized: "We have the right management structure to be successful in the long term in these times of increasing complexity and volatility."
