Money blessing for Gazprom: The Russian energy giant made a profit of the equivalent of 28 billion euros last year.
The reason for the high income is the rise in gas and oil prices, the group controlled by the Russian state announced on Thursday in Moscow.
Accordingly, net profit increased from 162 billion rubles in 2020 to 2.2 trillion rubles (28.4 billion euros) in 2021. Revenue increased from 6.3 trillion rubles to 10.2 trillion rubles, according to the data.
Gazprom makes most of its profits by selling gas to Europe.
