Influencer Fynn Kliemann: mask deals and donation chaos

In the mask affair surrounding the influencer and entrepreneur Fynn Kliemann, several companies have distanced themselves from their former business partner.
"The events described are in stark contrast to our values and our idea of community-oriented entrepreneurship," writes the NGO "Viva con Agua" on its website.
It was therefore decided to end “all business relationships” with Kliemann, including all affiliated companies.
The trigger was research by »ZDF Magazin Royale«, moderated by Jan Böhmermann.
Kliemann misled the public about the production location and conditions of the masks.
Instead of Portugal and Serbia, millions of masks sold under his name were made in Bangladesh and Vietnam.
In addition, Kliemann may have contributed to the fact that 100,000 defective protective masks were delivered to refugee accommodation.
No plans for cannabis collaboration
The energy supplier EWE, based in Oldenburg, has also announced that it will review further cooperation with Kliemann.
According to its own statements, EWE advises the project founded in Rüspel (Rotenburg district) and called “Kliemannsland” on matters of climate neutrality.
The fashion retailer About You had removed the protective masks with the wrong designation of origin from the range.
The Berlin cannabis start-up Sanity Group had also cooperated with Fynn Kliemann in the past.
The influencer grew hemp on his farm, which was used to process CBD products - and thus brought publicity to the young company.
In a statement to SPIEGEL, Sanity Group now distances itself: In the past, only a “small cooperation” with Kliemannsland and isolated influencer cooperations on Instagram were started for the VAAY brand.
»Since then there have been and are no further projects with Kliemannsland or Fynn Kliemann and they are not planned for the future either.«
Tafel Germany terminated the cooperation
Tafel Deutschland ended its business relationship with Kliemann before the ZDF research was broadcast.
The reason was the apparently chaotic handling of donations that the entrepreneur had collected when renting out holiday apartments.
"For us as a non-profit organization, this has damaged trust in cooperation and we do not see sufficient transparency towards those people who voluntarily paid more money for their holidays," the board wrote in a statement.
Tafel Germany rejected a donation that Kliemann made to the association because the original purpose of enabling people affected by poverty to spend the night in a holiday apartment could not be fulfilled.
