Conferences, workshops, DJs: The Safe Place Weekend, a multidisciplinary and inspiring feminist festival

The Safe Place association is organizing a feminist festival in Paris on May 14 and 15, with the support of Reebok. A moment of encounters, reflection and power.


"A dream feminist festival": this is how the Safe Place association describes its next event on its website.

On May 14 and 15, the feminist association is indeed organizing The Safe Place Weekend with the support of Reebok, at Garage Amelot, in the 11th arrondissement of Paris.

Since 2018, Safe Place has encouraged speaking out, in a context of mutual aid and security, around feminist and LGBTQIA+ issues, as well as gender-based and sexual violence.

The association supports the values ​​put forward during their events (conferences, meetings, shows, etc.) by promoting “a space for exchange and listening, in which we are all accepted not because we look alike but because we respect each other.”

During the Safe Place Weekend, visitors will be able to access a 1000 m2 space free of charge and speak freely about feminist issues.

Masterclass, debates, workshops… the program

On the program, in particular, a large number of speakers for a masterclass with Camille Aumont-Carmel (creator of the @jemenbatsleclito account), and talks on the history of feminism or the subject of feminism and social class.

For personalized exchanges, the association offers individual appointments with sex therapist Laura Cherfi, and a testimonial space with journalists Marie-Maxime Dricot and Elvire Duvelle-Charles.

For more practice, an upcycling workshop with Hemma Lange, a dance workshop by the Trop c'est Trop company and a writing workshop with Kiyémis, an Afro-feminist poet, will be organized.

To stroll in the middle of a cultural atmosphere, the photographer Fiona Torre exhibits her works all weekend and the feminist bookstore Un livre une cup de thé, welcomes visitors to the place of the festivities.

On Saturday, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., Rebequita and Barbara Butch will be behind the decks to punctuate the evening.
