Among the notable things that are known today, there is the attack on the (Russian) excise system (taxation, editor's note) which has made it possible to disrupt the sale of alcohol in Russia
", declared MykhaÏlo Fedorov , during a virtual press conference organized within the framework of a convention on cybersecurity in Paris.
“
We decided that people needed to be sober to be able
” to face “
the propaganda
” to which the Russian government subjects them, quipped Mykhaïlo Fedorov, who spoke in Ukrainian and whose remarks were translated into French.
The Deputy Prime Minister did not give any other details on this operation, and remained relatively discreet about the other cyber offensive actions carried out by the Ukrainians against Russia.
"
More than 80 Russian systems have been damaged
," he said, citing YouTube's Russian equivalent, RuTube, crippled by a cyberattack earlier this week.
“
The FSB and Kremlin sites have been brought down
,” he added.
"
But we will be able to talk about the real results, real successes
" of cyber-offensive actions against Russia "
only after the war
."
“
It would be counterproductive to expose them now
,” he said.
Generally speaking, Russian power has been "
overrated
" in the cyber realm, he said.
A call for French companies to leave Russia
The Deputy Prime Minister also took the opportunity to appeal to French companies still active in Russia to leave the country and "
cease their cooperation
" with this country.
Asked about the names of the French companies concerned, he did not want to give them, explaining that the government "
was in contact
" with them, and that they had "
promised to react and leave the
Russian market".
Mykhaïlo Fedorov was speaking at a virtual press conference organized on the occasion of the Paris Cyber Summit, a convention of cybersecurity experts, which is held until Thursday.
