The credit facilities granted by the Savings Bank recorded a growth of 53 percent during the first four months of this year compared to the same period last year, with a total mass of about 23.2 billion Syrian pounds.
The number of loans granted by the bank, according to data received by SANA, amounted to 8210 loans since the beginning of the year until the end of last April, including 5,702 development loans benefited by workers in the state, with a value of approximately 14.9 billion pounds, an increase of about 148 percent compared to the same period last year.
The loans granted during the same period included 1,025 loans to retirees with a value of more than two billion pounds, 1,461 loans to the military, at a value of 4.9 billion pounds, and 22 real estate loans with a value of more than 1.4 billion pounds.
It is noteworthy that the Savings Bank had previously announced at the beginning of this year a package of new decisions according to which the ceiling of loans was raised, the number of guarantees reduced, the method of calculating interest and facilitating the opening of bank accounts, most notably raising the ceiling of loans granted to low-income civilians and military personnel to 5 million Syrian pounds instead of 2 million Syrian pounds. .
